Green Policy

Netplan understands the importance of caring for our fragile world. As technology improves, so too does our collective knowledge of how delicate our eco-system is. We know that we must reach beyond ideas and deliver quantifiable results and reductions to curb the impact of humanity's expanding need for resources.

In our data centres we install only the latest hardware from leading specialists in the field. This hardware contains extensive power saving features and some of the lowest energy consumption ratings available. By constantly upgrading our servers, we can offer you the best in performance and reliability whilst reducing our emissions further.

Our racks are designed to allow for as much natural cooling as possible; this is augmented by the latest in cooling technology, all designed to offer the maximum cooling for the lowest power consumption. Our data centres provide maximum air circulation and natural cooling, reducing the need for air conditioning and the energy it consumes.

Netplan is committed to virtualisation technology, partnering with VMware and Dell to consolidate and reduce our hardware footprint. We maximise energy efficiency by implementing a high density, high performance, energy reducing strategy of migration towards cloud computing; this can all help to reduce the typical server's energy footprint by up to 15 times!

Our head office is located in a new, purpose built complex designed to offer as much energy efficiency as possible. Within the business, we operate a near paperless office system to reduce waste and use recycled materials wherever possible. Our PCs are rated for the highest level of energy efficiency and all of our internal communication is via electronic media to further reduce our paper consumption.

We are continually reviewing our energy needs and finding new ways to reduce emissions by adapting our business to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and environmental impact can directly help your business to minimise its own impact when it comes to supporting your IT needs.
