Remote hands:

Remote Hands enables you to call on Netplan technicians experienced with wide range of hardware at any time of day or night. Alternatively, if you wish to handle equipment yourself, you can access the data centre 24x7.

Internet / IP Connectivity:

Netplan providers multi-homed Internet connectivity or "IP Transit" delivered through physically diverse fibre routes meaning that there is no convergence of the fibres from the carrier's points of presence where they originate.

Power:

Netplan data centres have a dual layer of protection against any power failure. The first layer is our UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) which not only cleans the power from the main electrical grid to protect your servers from unforeseen power spikes but also provides the entire data centre with a constant power supply should the mains fail. Designed in an N+1 configuration, our UPS system is maintained and constantly and is subject to regular load tests. "N+1" means that redundancy is built into the infrastructure so that if one component fails, continuous operation is maintained and that maintenance can be performed on the equipment without any downtime.

We also have a stand-by Diesel Generator onsite that automatically starts up within seconds of a mains failure being detected. A several thousand-litre fuel tank plus a SLA contract (for refuelling whilst the generator is running) means we can run our generator at full load indefinitely.

Air Conditioning and humidity control:

A typical rack in our data centre can generate heat of up to 40 x 100 watt light bulbs - you can just being to imagine the heat intensity. Whatever the level of heat generated in your colocation space, you need cooling capacity to match - Netplan data centre experts will ensure that your equipment is adequately ventilated and cooled.

As well as cooling the ambient temperature of the data floor, each air conditioning unit in a Netplan data centre contains special filters to prevent any dust particles from being circulated around the room and transferred into your equipment.

Netplan uses best practice "hot and cold" isle layouts in which cold air is draw from the front of equipment cabinets and hot exhaust air is expelled behind them thereby eliminating mixing and inefficiency in cooling management.

Security

Surveillance cameras are positioned carefully in key areas of the data centre including entrances, exits, passageways and strategically across all data centre floors. This combined with 24x7 manned security and Netplan's ISO 9001 and BS7799/2 - approved security processes means unparalleled protection.
